About this section
Log every wage you receive from contractors. We auto-calculate the CIS deduction and net pay, then show your running totals across the tax year (April → April). The "CIS deducted" total is what you claim back via Self Assessment. Your gross income flows straight into the Tax Estimator.
No checks yet.
How this is calculated
Income = all paid invoices + gross wages received. Deductions = expenses + mileage allowance at HMRC AMAP rates (Car/Van 45p, dropping to 25p over 10,000 miles in tax year; Motorcycle 24p; Bicycle 20p). Tax-free allowance £12,570. Basic rate 20% on next £37,700. Higher rate 40% above that. Class 4 NI at 9% on profit above £12,570. CIS already deducted = tax HMRC has already collected via your wages (counts towards your bill — often results in a refund for sole-trader subbies).
When does reverse charge apply?
You are VAT-registered · Customer is a VAT-registered contractor · Work falls within CIS · Standard or reduced rated supply
Does NOT apply to: end users, zero-rated supplies, connected companies, non-CIS work
